Halloween Party Planning

Fun Halloween Games for Kids and Adults

halloween party planningHalloween parties are one of the easiest parties to plan. It is a favorite holiday of both kids and adults and what better way to celebrate than to throw a party! Halloween party planning is simple; all you need are your guests dressed in their favorite Halloween costume , snacks and a few fun Halloween games. While there are lots of Halloween party games and just about any party game can be altered to fit into a Halloween theme, here are two of our favorite to help you get started with your party planning. Each game has two versions, a simple version for your little goblins and a more difficult version for teenagers or adults.

Halloween Party Planning Idea: Great Pumpkin Hunt

The great pumpkin hunt is similar to an Easter egg hunt. Instead of hiding Easter eggs, use the small plastic pumpkins available in dollar or craft stores this time of year. Fill the pumpkins with candy or a simple prize and hide them either outside or in the house, depending on the age group of your guests. One pumpkin will have a bigger prize and the one who finds this pumpkin is the official winner of the game.

A variation which makes the game more challenging but also takes a bit more work is to provide a clue to the location of the first pumpkin and have everyone searching together. Instead of putting candy in the pumpkin, each will have a clue as to the location of the next pumpkin. The final clue will lead the group to a box of treasure or a larger plastic pumpkin full of fun trinkets.

Charades – with a Halloween Twist

This fun Halloween game can be adapted to any age group. Before the party, write various Halloween characters or themes on individual slips of paper, fold in half and put in a bowl. Your guest will reach into the bowl and select a piece of paper. Using gestures or one word clues, the idea is to get the group to guess the character or theme. Each person has one minute to act out their character or theme. Prizes are given to those who correctly guess the character or Halloween theme.

To add a twist to this game, instead of using traditional Halloween themes such as vampires, witches or goblins, use characters from famous horror movies. Winners are required to correctly guess both the character and the horror film.

So what else is involved in Halloween party planning? Since you have your guests dressed in their costumes and you have few fun games to keep everyone entertained, all you have to add is add a few tasty snacks a little background music of spooky Halloween howls and you have a perfect Halloween party! halloween party planning
